NARCISSUS is a contemporary tale about the longing for admiration, the fear of decay, and the pursuit of the perfect self.
NARCISSUS is a visually stunning music-theatre production in which opera, theatre, and dance merge within a sensory and unsettling universe. Drawing on the myth of Narcissus and inspired by *The Picture of Dorian Gray*, the performance explores our era’s obsession with beauty, self-presentation, and digital perfection.
On stage, opera singing, acting, piano music, and modern dance converge within a powerful visual landscape inspired by neoclassical art. The music—composed specifically for the production by French composer Jérôme Baur—forms the work’s beating heart, while body, voice, and movement mirror and duplicate the protagonist’s fractured identity.
